macOS menu bar app
The notch stops standing out.
HiddenNotch keeps the MacBook menu bar background black so the notch blends in. Set it once and never touch it again. It stays put when you connect or disconnect an external display.

The state holds through the things that normally break this trick: connecting and disconnecting an external display, changing the wallpaper, waking from sleep, rebooting.
It paints a black panel over the menu bar area only. Your wallpaper file and settings stay exactly as they were.
The panel ignores clicks and stays below Mission Control and full-screen apps. Menu bar height is measured per display rather than hardcoded.
No Dock icon, menu bar only, and it requests no permissions at all.
By default it applies to the display with the notch. Turn on “Apply to external displays” in the menu to blacken the menu bar on notchless monitors too.
What's new and improved in HiddenNotch.
